P Day at the Henry Doorly Zoo

Although it was a chilly day, it was warmer than many others as we missionaries started out for a holiday at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha. Chilly outside, but very warm inside where we spent much of the day in the  jungle and aquarium as well as the Desert Dome and Butterfly Pavilion. It was a day to marvel at the creations of God and recognize how much He loves all of us, His children, to provide so many incredible creatures of the earth. The Lord is in the details of our lives.

This does not begin to do justice to the breathtaking beauty of these lovely, graceful jellyfishes

 Truly weird!

The Butterfly Pavillion was exquisite. They totally filled the area and we got to walk in the midst of them.

These funny little characters were pretty tame. Some of the Sisters even petted one of them.

Tulips finally blossoming at the Tabernacle.

 Huge penguin area. Amazing!
This is Horace, very tame, liked to be petted.

April Showers

If April showers bring May flowers, we should have masses of beautiful flowers soon. We never know from day to day if it will be spring or winter. Today feels like winter, and we actually had a few snow flurries here in Council Bluffs at the Kanesville Tabernacle today. There are a few daffodils opening up their blossoms. We just need some warm sunshine to encourage the little beauties to share with us. At the Mormon Trail Center there are a few tulips opening up as well. At least we haven't needed our winter coats lately. How we all love serving here and meeting so many wonderful people.

Sister Jensen and Sister Tarpening are wonderful missionaries!
Pioneer Courage Park is a super place to visit, downtown Omaha
The Lewis and Clark overlook is a great place to view!
